12 Week Blowdry Explained: Is It Worth It?
What the treatment actually does to your hair, who it suits, and how to keep the result looking fresh through a Dublin winter.

A 12 week blowdry is a semi-permanent smoothing treatment: a keratin-based product is sealed into the hair with heat so it dries smoother, frizzes less and takes far less styling time. It softens texture rather than permanently straightening it, and fades gradually over roughly three months.
What actually happens in the chair
Your hair is clarified to open the cuticle, the smoothing product is applied section by section, then it is dried and sealed with a flat iron at a controlled temperature. The heat locks the product into the outer layer of the hair, so the cuticle lies flatter afterwards.
You leave with hair that already looks smoother, and the real benefit shows up at home: a wash-and-go blowdry that takes a fraction of the time.
Who it suits — and who should skip it
It is at its best on thick, frizz-prone or humidity-sensitive hair, and on curls where you want looseness and control rather than a poker-straight finish.

12 week blowdry vs Brazilian keratin treatment
The two overlap. Both are keratin-based smoothing services sealed with heat; the difference is strength and how long the effect holds. Brazilian keratin treatment, one of our most requested hair services, tends to give a stronger smoothing result on coarse or very curly hair.
At consultation we look at your texture, colour history and how straight you actually want to be, then recommend the version that fits.
Making it last
Use a sulphate-free shampoo, keep hot tools moderate, and space out washes. Colour services are best booked either before the treatment or a couple of weeks after, so the smoothing product is not fighting fresh lightener.
